Chairman & Director

ZALINA SHAHER

Zalina Shaher is Chairman of Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd. She is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”) since 18 March 2022.

An electrical engineer by training, she is an experienced leader with extensive supply chain track record within the semiconductor industry. On the back of her 33 years of practice in the industry, she has held numerous roles leading the operations of large semiconductor facilities in and out of Malaysia.

She is particularly well-versed with process and equipment engineering as well as test and product engineering, both of which provide deep insights that enable her achievements in operational realignments, cost productivity and controls across manufacturing processes.

She currently advises sensiBel AS as its Vice President of Operations, where she is systems (MEMS) microphone, focusing on the assembly and test partners, cost, and operations infrastructure setup.
Before joining sensiBel AS, she was engaged to advise on several key assignments, including the setup assembly partner for Novelda AS, a Norwegian semiconductor design company, and notably, the technical due diligence of SilTerra Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the Company.

She began her career at Motorola Semiconductor Sdn Bhd as a Process Engineer in 1984 and served the company for 15 years. She left as Operations Manager to join Motorola Malaysia Sdn Bhd, in which role as Senior Director, she led the entire RF Operations comprising 1,300 employees and was responsible for the full scale of its manufacturing process with collaborations on cost monitoring with business units in Phoenix, USA.

She subsequently served at ON Semiconductor, Silicon Laboratories, Honeywell Aerospace Avionics Malaysia Sdn Bhd, and Energy Micro AS, all of which to align resources, facilities and productivity towards operational excellence.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Mathematics from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, United States. She is also a Certified SIRIM ISO9002 Assessor.

Director

AZHAR OTHMAN

Azhar Othman is Director of Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd. He is also Group Chief Operating Officer of Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”). He was previously Group Chief Financial Officer at DNeX, responsible for leading the Group’s Finance Team to maintain financial statement integrity, controllership, compliance and best practices.

His experience spans more than 30 years in leadership, planning, managing, and controlling the entire spectrum of operational finance and accounting functions of an organisation towards meeting its business objectives and profitability.

He is an action-oriented and dynamic leader with global experience in the field of finance and operation across various industries such as semiconductor, automotive, property, real estate and infrastructure, hotel and resort as well as education.

Prior to joining DNeX, he has held the role of CFO for more than 10 years including in large government-linked companies such as Proton Holdings Berhad (Automotive), UEM Sunrise Berhad (Property) and Johor Corporation Berhad (Real Estate and Infrastructure).

He also has experience working in the semiconductor industry, having worked abroad for eight years in the United States in ON Semiconductor, and also Motorola Semiconductor (M) Sdn Bhd, where he held various roles in finance which include corporate office, business division, IT, global manufacturing and joint ventures across all regions.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Arizona State University, United States of America and Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance and Corporate Investment), University of North Texas, United States of America. He is also a member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountant and Malaysia Institute of Accountants.

DATO HAJI CHIK OMAR CHIK LIM

Dato’ Haji Chik Omar Chik Lim is Director of Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”). He has had a long illustrious career with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (“RMCD”) before retiring in 2016 at the age of 60 as Customs Director.

He began his 36 years long career with the RMCD in 1980 as a Customs Officer in Penang, before transferring to Wilayah Persekutuan in 1983. During his tenure, he served various capacities in different jurisdictions, including Sultan Aziz Shah Airport, Port Klang, Malaysian International Development Authority (“MIDA”), the Royal Malaysian Customs Headquarters in Putrajaya, and Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Throughout his career, he played an instrumental role in various facets of the agency’s operations and functions, including strategising and managing the operations of Human Resources, Finance and Procurement; implementing state tax policy through import and export tax duty collection and the Goods and Services Tax scheme, and also impeding the smuggling of taxable goods, illegal drugs, currency and prohibited goods. He was also actively involved in representing the RMCD internationally and domestically for high level meetings and white paper presentations.

He graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with a Bachelor’s degree in Letters (B.Litt). He also holds a Post Research Student Certificate in Tax Systems from Shizuoka University, Japan.

Director

TAN SRI ACRYL SANI ABDULLAH SANI

Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani was appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director and Deputy Chairman of Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”) on 1 August 2023. Prior to this, he was the 13th Inspector-General of Police (“IGP”) of Malaysia from 4 May 2021 until his early retirement on 22 June 2023.

He is also Director of Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of DNeX.

Tan Sri Acryl Sani was a seasoned executive with almost 40 years of experience in the Royal Malaysia Police (“RMP”). He has held various positions within the RMP, accumulating a wealth of valuable experience and a sound track record in helming numerous leadership roles.

He began his career in RMP as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent in 1986 before working his way up through the RMP, helming various leadership positions, including as Deputy Officer Commanding Police in Kinta District of Perak; Commandant of Kuala Kubu Bharu Police College; Head of Police Forensics; Chief Police Officer of Terengganu; Deputy Director (Intelligence/Operation) for Criminal Investigation Department (“CID”) Unit; Deputy Director Training; and Deputy Director (Investigation/Legal) for CID Unit.

He was appointed as Police Commissioner of Sarawak in 2011, followed by Chief Police Officer of Perak in 2013. Between 2014 and 2018, he became Director of Crime Prevention and Community Policing; Director of Commercial Crime Investigation; Director of Logistics and Technology; as well as Director of Internal Security and Public Order.

In August 2020, he took on the role of Deputy IGP and was later promoted to the IGP of Malaysia in May 2021.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Science Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia and a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He also holds a Diploma in Management Science from the National Institute of Public Administration (“INTAN”)
