NOTIFICATION - MAQIS: IMPLEMENTATION OF ITEM SELECTION LIMIT TO TEN (10) ITEMS PER PERMIT

With reference to the subject mentioned above, please be informed that issuance of MAQIS permit will be automatically approved beginning October 22, 2019 for plant commodities and will be extended to all commodities in the near future.

Pursuant to this new development, the item selection limit is set to ten (10) items only for all commodities that have been automatically approved. This is intended to speed up the process of verifying application information through the system, as well as during document and physical examination conducted at the entrance.

For further information on the above, please refer to the attached circular from Department of Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services (MAQIS) – KP/MAQIS/556 JLD.8 (53).

Please be informed that Malaysia has been experiencing a technical disruption at the ASEAN Single Window (ASW) Gateway due to B2Bi service issues in the production environment since 3rd February 2026. As a result, the transmission and receipt of electronic Form D (e-Form D) under the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA) are temporarily unavailable. During this period, the Malaysian authority has reverted to the issuance of hardcopy Form D until further notice.
