NOTIFICATIONS FROM THE ROYAL MALAYSIAN CUSTOMS DEPARTMENT – BUDGET 2025

We wish to inform you that the Malaysia Budget 2025 will be presented in Parliament on 18th October 2024, from 1600 to 1800 hours. There is a possibility that a new Customs Order and Subsidiary Law will be gazetted on the same day at 1600 hours.

To facilitate this process, please note that all duty and tax payments, as well as the release of goods at any legal locations or private jetties, will be suspended from 1600 to 1800 hours on 18th October 2024, with the exception of perishable goods and personal carry-on items.

Should there be any changes to duties or taxes for goods pending release after 1600 hours, the new duty rates will apply to the affected items as determined by Customs officers.

NOTIFICATION: IMPLEMENTATION OF CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN UNDER AANZFTA SECOND PROTOCOL

Please be informed that under the Second Protocol of the ASEAN–Australia–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA), exporters are now allowed to print the Certificate of Origin (CO) directly from the ePCO system using A4-sized white paper.
