NOTIFICATION FROM THE ROYAL MALAYSIAN CUSTOMS DEPARTMENT – BUDGET 2022

We wish to inform you that due to Malaysian Budget 2022 that will be tabled in Parliament on the 29th October 2021 from 1600 - 1800 hours, there is a possibility that new Customs Order and Subsidiary Law will be gazetted, effective from 1600 hours on the 29th October 2021.

To facilitate the above, all duty/tax payments and process of releasing goods in any legal place or private jetty will be suspended from 1600 hours – 1800 hours on 29th October 2021, with the exception for perishable and personal hand carry items.

In the event that there are changes to duties/taxes for the yet to be released goods after 1600 hours by Customs officers, the new duty rates will be applicable to the affected goods.

NOTIFICATION OF SYSTEM RESUMPTION FOR APPLICATIONS OF PREFERENTIAL CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN (PCO) UNDER ASEAN TRADE IN GOODS AGREEMENT (ATIGA) TO ASEAN MEMBER STATES DUE TO TECHNICAL ISSUE IN MALAYSIA’S ASW GATEWAY

With reference to the attached announcement by MITI. Please be informed that the system for transmitting and receiving electronic Form D (e-Form D) under the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA) has resumed normal operation as of 1 July 2025. This follows the earlier disruption caused by a technical issue in Malaysia’s ASW Gateway, which began on 8 June 2025.
