Kuala Lumpur, 6 November 2017 – Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”), through 51 per cent-owned subsidiary company DNeX RFID Sdn Bhd, has been awarded a total subcontract to supply radio frequency identification (“RFID”) Vehicle Entry Permit (“VEP”) Tag for foreign-registered vehicles.

Under the award, DNeX will be responsible for hardware, software and systems related to Encryption Tools and Encryption System for the issuance of the RFID VEP Tag.

DNeX will charge RM15 for each RFID VEP Tag issued.

DNeX is currently operating and managing the VEP and Road Charges (“RC”) System Project that involves foreign-registered vehicles entering Malaysia via Johor namely Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar in Tanjung Kupang and Bangunan Sultan Iskandar in Johor Baru.

“We are pleased to be given the opportunity to implement the project to supply RFID VEP Tag for foreign-registered vehicles. We believe the award is a testimony of how well we have undertaken the operations and management of the VEP and RC System Project thus far,” said Datuk Samsul Husin, Executive Deputy Chairman of DNeX.

“We are certainly grateful on continued confidence and trust placed on us to deliver such key projects, and strive to meet set requirements and deliverables, as well as value to our customers,” he added.

DNeX RFID’s business operations are focused on research and development, design, manufacturing and trading of RFID technology, security system and related equipment.

The company’s offerings include RFID Warehouse Management System that enables customers achieve real-time visibility of inventory and warehouse operations, and Certificate Management System that provides high security protection of certificate and authentication features for enforcement personnel and public consumer to perform checking and confirmation of authenticity of the certificate effectively and efficiently.

In addition, the company offers RFID Asset Management System that enables customers to track, trace, and secure their tangible assets and goods in real time.

ANNOUNCEMENT: ENTRY INTO FORCE OF THE COMPREHENSIVE AND PROGRESSIVE AGREEMENT FOR TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP FOR THE UNITED KINGDOM

Please be informed that the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) has announced that the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will come into effect for the United Kingdom on 15 December 2024. The UK will join the existing 11 member countries: Malaysia, Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam. As a result, Malaysian exporters will be able to apply for the Preferential Certificate of Origin (PCO) for exports to the UK starting from 15 December 2024.
