Cyberjaya, 21 February 2023 – Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) with MIMOS Berhad (“MIMOS”) to explore opportunities to leverage Government strategic projects and initiatives towards the development of enhanced digital technology capabilities, software development, networking, system integration, consultation services, cloud computing, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution (“IR 4.0”).
Under the partnership, both parties will cooperate in undertaking such activities as joint-development, field-testing, technology transfer and commercialising technological products and exchanging of personnel for defined periods for purposes of collaborative research and development; teaching, knowledge sharing and training; study visits, internships or attachment.
In addition, the partnership can pave the way for both parties to partake in mega information technology (“IT”) projects, leveraging on each other’s capabilities and expertise, creating exceptional value and facilitating semi and skilled technology transfer.
The MoU was recently formalised in Cyberjaya where DNeX was represented by Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, Executive Chairman of the company, and MIMOS was represented by its Chairman, Dato’ Sri Ibrahim Ahmad. Also present at the event were Encik Azhar Othman, DNeX’s Group Chief Operating Officer and Encik Azlan Zainal Abidin, DNeX’s Group CEO IT & eServices.
According to Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, the partnership will enable both parties to leverage on each other’s technological know-how to provide comprehensive solutions for various IT projects including those in enhancing and advancing the Government’s operations and delivery of services.
“This is in line with the Government’s aspiration to reduce bureaucratic red tape, improve efficiencies and address leakages and wastages issues while enhancing its revenues across all operations,” he said, adding that the partnership between DNeX and MIMOS aspires to serve as a springboard to accelerate digital transformation in the country, capitalising on both parties’ breadth and depth of offerings and technologies.

DNeX has a proven track record in delivering eServices to the Government of Malaysia including the development of Malaysia’s National Single Window (“NSW”) for Trade Facilitation and serving as its operator since 2009 via subsidiary Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd; the development and maintenance, support services and application improvement of the integrated government financial and management system (“iGFMAS”), and application and software maintenance of Malaysia Hasil Integrated Taxation Systems (“HITS”) provided by Innovation Associates Consulting Sdn Bhd (“IAC”).
