Cyberjaya, 24 May 2022 – Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) with Accenture Solutions Sdn Bhd (“Accenture”) to identify and explore opportunities that drive Malaysia’s economic growth in high value areas such as digitalisation, cloud computing, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution (“IR 4.0”).
This MoU opens the doors for Accenture’s and DNeX’s related entities, including Innovation Associates Consulting Sdn Bhd (“iAC”), to enter into further definitive agreements on such opportunities.
Under the MoU, the parties will mutually leverage home-grown technologies from DNeX and iAC, and Accenture’s deep global industry and functional expertise including Data and Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) and Cloud to create joint offerings with products, services and solutions that drive data-led transformation in Malaysia’s public services and government-link companies (“GLCs”).
The collaboration allows joint development of products and services by leveraging technologies and capabilities in the space of Analytics, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”).
The collaboration also brings together the respective domain expertise from each party to expand its offerings for existing clients, specifically in digital and technology transformation.
The MoU was formalised in Cyberjaya recently where DNeX was represented by Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, Group Managing Director, and Accenture was represented by Azwan Baharuddin, Accenture Malaysia's country managing director. Also present at the event was Azlan Zainal Abidin, DNeX’s Group CEO IT & eServices.
According to Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, the collaboration allows the parties to expand their footprint in Malaysia and the region while strengthening connections to government entities and GLCs.
“The synergy among DNeX, iAC and Accenture will serve as a springboard to accelerate Malaysia’s economic growth, capitalising on both entities’ breadth and depth of offerings and technologies. This cooperation is timely as we move in an age of fast-paced technologies, a new dimension that will pave the way for digital transformation across every industry and market,” he said.
He added that the collaboration will serve as an opportunity for DNeX and iAC to leverage on Accenture’s global technological expertise and innovation network to add value to the company’s existing business portfolio.
"We are excited to bring Accenture's expertise in data and AI, cloud, and customer experience to play a pivotal role in this collaboration. Together with DNeX’s capabilities and its keen knowledge of local stakeholders, we look forward to helping accelerate the public sector’s journey to digital, and bring new value to citizens," said Azwan Baharuddin, country managing director, Accenture in Malaysia.
"The MOU represents Accenture's long-standing commitment to contribute to Malaysia's digital economy ambitions through collaboration with enterprises and other partners in the ecosystem. Through this effort, we can increase technology adoption in the market and develop the right talent to drive it. We recently established the Advanced Technology Centre to bridge the talent gap and develop in-demand skills in Malaysia. The centre will attract over 2,000 professionals to help our clients accelerate their digital transformation journeys, supporting the 500,000 new jobs projected to be created under Malaysia’s MyDIGITAL initiative," added Azwan Baharuddin.
