Kuala Lumpur, 24 July 2019 – Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”), has received the contract extension from the Government of Malaysia for the National Single Window (“NSW”) for Trade Facilitation.
The contract extension is for a period of two years commencing from 1 September 2019 until 31 August 2021.
Dagang Net has been the operator of the NSW for Trade Facilitation since its launch in 2009, and the company is backed by 30 years of experience – in terms of knowledge, expertise and operational know-how - in offering eServices for Trade Facilitation.
The NSW for Trade Facilitation includes six core eServices namely eDeclare, ePCO, ePermit, ePermitSTA, eManifest and ePayment, which provide the trading community with connectivity to Customs and relevant agencies for import and export document processing.
Such trade environment can help expedite cargo clearance process, reduce cost and time of doing business, and contribute positively to the country’s trade efficiency and global competitiveness.
“We would like to express our deepest appreciation to the Government of Malaysia namely the Ministry of Finance and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department for their continued confidence in us,” said Datuk Samsul Husin, Executive Deputy Chairman of DNeX, and also Executive Chairman of Dagang Net.
“We remain committed to offer top notch eServices in Trade Facilitation that not only meet requirements of customers but also offer value that can help our customers further improve their operations and grow their business,” he said.
As part of its continuous improvements, Dagang Net is facilitating new services introduced by the Government for the trading community, he added.
Through its electronic Preferential Certificate of Origin (“ePCO”), Dagang Net is supporting the implementation of the ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Free Trade Agreement (“AHKFTA”), which will start 1 August this year.
Manufacturers or exporters who need certification of the country of origin for a particular product can use ePCO to obtain the Preferential Certificate of Origin in the form of an official online document. This document is sufficient to satisfy requirements of relevant authorities and can further be used as a supporting document for other corresponding Preferential Certificate of Origin.
And now with the implementation of AHKFTA, the trading community can apply for Preferential Certificate of Origin through ePCO in addition to the rest of 14 schemes already available through the eService.
Dagang Net is also facilitating another new service namely online application of Approved Permit (“AP”) of personal vehicle under its ePermit. Effective 1 August 2019, AP application for the importation of personal vehicles to the approving authority – Ministry of International Trade and Industry - must be made through ePermit.
With ePermit, permit application is submitted electronically with approval received electronically as well from multiple Permit Issuing Agencies. ePermit eliminates the hassle of manual paperwork and conventional permit procedures. Moreover, approved permits are sent to Customs for validation and cross-reference against Custom declarations.
