Spotlight on Careline : Nur Amelia Kamarul Zaman, Careline Executive

How did you join Dagang Net?

I joined Dagang Net when I was 19 years old. Now I am 26. I started my first career when I was 18 years old after completing Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia. I used to work as an admin assistant at KLCC area, dan later in Mont Kiara.

I made the decision to join Dagang Net because I needed a new job and the salary offer was better (laughs). It then turned out to be the best decision I made in life as I learnt that the job was like a “calling” for me and I have stayed on ever since.

What do you like most about your role in customer service?

What I like about my job is that it suits my personality. I am the type of person who likes to communicate with people and help those in need. Like in the customer service, I am doing just that but with the right communication skills and techniques in order for me to provide the best experience to customers.

Dagang Net Careline Department has really taught me well, having me well-equipped with the skills and knowledge to deal with customers who are one of our key stakeholders. For me, it is the mastery of these skills that helps me become who I am today, hopefully from zero to hero. That is what I like about this role too.

What is the most challenging part?

Customer service is a continuous journey that a company goes through with its customers and this means we are dealing with all types of customers. There have been unhappy and angry customers, hence it is our job to turn these customers to happy customers. This has always been the challenge but never impossible.

What is your career goal?

My goal is to take more responsibility and career advancement in the customer service field.

In Summary

Customer service requires both mental and physical strengths, so anybody who wants to be in this line, be prepared. If we are not physically and mentally strong, how can we help other people?
