UPDATES ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TRADE PREFERENTIAL SYSTEM AMONG THE MEMBER STATES OF THE ORGANISATION OF THE ISLAMIC COOPERATION (TPS-OIC) FOR MALAYSIA

Reference is made to the attached announcement from Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).

Please be informed that the following 7 TPS-OIC member countries namely Bahrain, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and The United Arab Emirates (UAE) have yet to implement the agreement. For information, only 6 member countries have completed the ratification process and implemented the agreement which are Bangladesh, Iran, Pakistan, Türkiye, Jordan and Malaysia. While the remaining 28 signatories are yet to complete their domestic ratification process.

For Syria, their membership under the TPS-OIC is currently suspended until further notice.

Following this update, all application via the Electronic Preferential Certificate of Origin (ePCO) to these 7 countries will not be processed until further update.
