NOTIFICATIONS FROM THE ROYAL MALAYSIAN CUSTOMS DEPARTMENT – BUDGET 2023

The above subject and the attachment are referred.

We wish to inform you that Malaysian Budget 2023 will be tabled in Parliament on the 24th February 2023 from 1600 - 1800 hours, with a possibility of new Customs Order and Subsidiary Law to be gazetted on 24th February 2023, at 1600 hours.

To facilitate the above, all duty/tax payments and process of releasing goods at any legal places or private jetties will be suspended from 1600 hours – 1800 hours on 24th February 2023, with the exception for perishable and personal hand carry items.

In the event that there are changes to duties/taxes for the yet to be released goods after 1600 hours by Customs officers, the new duty rates will be applicable to the affected goods.

As a result, the transmission and receipt of electronic Form D (e-Form D) under the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA) with ASEAN Member States are temporarily unavailable.
