Kuala Lumpur, 2 February 2017 – Global Halal Exchange (“GHX”), an eMarketplace for the Halal industry, has recently signed two agreements in efforts to expand its reach to consumers looking to purchase Halal products and services.

The first agreement was formalised between GHX and Koperasi Masyarakat Muslim Bukit Jelutong Berhad where the latter will serve as the operator of GHX Showcase in Shah Alam.

Products to be made available for sale at GHX Showcase in Shah Alam will be sourced from merchants of GHX from such categories as Food & Beverages, Beauty and Wellness presented in an attractive set up of about 2,500 square feet of retail space.

Expected to be operational in March this year, the new GHX Showcase will the second such physical outlet after the first GHX Showcase opened at the Melaka International Trade Centre (“MITC”), Ayer Keroh, Melaka in November last year.

GHX Showcase is part of marketing efforts by the eMarketplace that combines both online and offline strategies to extend its reach to both customers and merchants.

The second agreement was signed between GHX and its merchant Food Artist Sdn Bhd where GHX will the sole distributor of Food Artist’s range of frozen meatball products under the brand name “Mat Bulat”.

Both agreements were formalised at a signing ceremony held recently in Kuala Lumpur. For the first agreement, Marketing Director of GHX Dato’ Mohd Nasaruddin Ahmad represented GHX while Koperasi Masyarakat Muslim Bukit Jelutong Berhad was represented by its Member of the Board Datuk Zahir Osman. Datuk Samsul Husin, Executive Deputy Chairman of Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”) witnessed the signing, which was also attended by DNeX’s Executive Director En Azman Karim.

For the second agreement, Dato’ Mohd Nasaruddin Ahmad represented GHX while Food Artist was represented by its Managing Director En Sabrie Salleh. The signing was witnessed by Datuk Samsul Husin, and Puan Intan Norazita Mohd Yunus, Executive Account and Admin of Food Artist.

ANNOUNCEMENT: ENTRY INTO FORCE OF THE COMPREHENSIVE AND PROGRESSIVE AGREEMENT FOR TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP FOR THE UNITED KINGDOM

Please be informed that the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) has announced that the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will come into effect for the United Kingdom on 15 December 2024. The UK will join the existing 11 member countries: Malaysia, Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam. As a result, Malaysian exporters will be able to apply for the Preferential Certificate of Origin (PCO) for exports to the UK starting from 15 December 2024.
