Cyberjaya, 5 November 2019 – Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dagang NeXchange Berhad ("DNeX"), will host the 60th Pan-Asian e-Commerce Alliance ("PAA") Meeting, which will take place in Cyberjaya from 12 to 13 November 2019.

The PAA is an alliance comprising service providers that are connected to Customs and other trade regulatory agencies in their respective economies, and provide secure, trusted, reliable and value-adding IT infrastructure and services to facilitate trade globally.

Dagang Net, which is a member of the PAA, will host the two-day event expected to be attended by key representatives from the alliance's participating members. The PAA Steering Committee Meeting is expected to be officiated by The Honourable Mr Lim Guan Eng, Minister of Finance, Malaysia on 13 November.

According to Datuk Samsul Husin, Executive Deputy Chairman of DNeX and also Executive Chairman of Dagang Net, the company is honoured to host the event, which is a regional initiative that serves as an effective platform for members to discuss key matters pertaining to cross-border trade as well as knowledge sharing.

He said the PAA is an important regional alliance as it promotes an environment where businesses from its participating economies can look forward to uninterrupted cross-border trading, with ready acceptance of cross-border approvals and certification policy, secure and reliable paperless trade and transactions, and the convenience of working with the alliance as a single point of contact.

"We are excited to welcome back PAA members to Malaysia and hope that we will have a fruitful meeting towards putting in more improvements and efficiency in cross-border trade," he added. The last time Dagang Net hosted this event was in 2015.

Discussion at the meeting this year will cover such topics as updates on initiatives by members, efforts to harmonise cross border trade documentation as well as adoption of latest technology like blockchain. The meeting will be chaired by Mr Kam Keung Tse, Chief Executive Officer of Tradelink Electronic Comm Ltd from Hong Kong, as the current Chairperson of PAA.
