ANNOUNCEMENT : ENTRY INTO FORCE OF THE COMPREHENSIVE AND PROGRESSIVE AGREEMENT FOR TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP FOR BRUNEI DARUSSALAM ON 12 JULY 2023

Reference is made to the attached announcement from Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).

The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement For Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will enter into force for Brunei Darussalam on 12 July 2023, where Brunei will join ten (10) other signatory countries that have completed the ratification process.

Please take note on the following with regards to the enforcement:

1. All procedures of applying for the CPTPP remains the same as prior announcement.
2. Form CPTPP that has been approved with electronically affixed signature and official seal has to be printed on ISO A4 size white paper and exporter shall keep a copy of the Form for a period of no less than five years from the date of importation of the good in accordance with Article 3.26 of the CPTPP.
