INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN SURVEY ON RULES OF ORIGIN IN THE ASEAN TRADE IN GOODS AGREEMENT (ATIGA)

ASEAN Secretariat is circulating a Survey on Rules of Origin in the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA) to understand the private sector’s views on the specific sectors such as Petroleum, Cotton, Electrical Machinery, Textiles, Beverages and Tobacco, dan Minerals and Metals with low ATIGA utilization. This survey aims to assess the stringency of ATIGA Rules of Origin, particularly the product-specific rules (PSRs), and assess how the cost and burden of applying for paper-based/electronic Certificates of Origin (COs) Form D or making use of the ASEAN-wide Self-Certification (AWSC) Scheme affect the private sector’s utilization of ATIGA.

ANNOUNCEMENT: UPDATE OF THE TARIFF RATES FOR EXPANSION OF THE SALES AND SERVICE TAX (SST) SCOPE

Please be informed that the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) in the preparation to update the tariff rates for the expansion of the Sales and Service Tax (SST) scope to be used in both Sistem Maklumat Kastam (SMK) and the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) systems. The tariff rate update will take effect from 1st June 2025.
