SPOTLIGHT ON CARELINE : Norhasaniah binti Zakaria, Acting Team Leader.


Can you share a little bit about yourself?

I was born and raised in Kedah but moved to Kuala Lumpur about six years ago. I come from a big family, as I have seven siblings, so I'm used to being surrounded by people. Today, I'm married to a remarkable guy and together we have one cute daughter aged two years old. About eight years ago, I graduated from UUM in Business Administration.


How did you come to work at Dagang Net?

About the time I graduated, the Government at the time introduced a scheme for fresh graduates that were unable to find jobs. In 2012, I applied for the scheme and was given a three-month course at Trolak. After I finished my practical training, which lasted a year or so, I was placed in Dagang Net-first under Business Department, and later as a call agent under Dagang Net Careline.


What do you enjoy most about working at Dagang Net Careline?

As a Careliner, it gives me great personal satisfaction whenever I am able to personally and efficiently solve any issues or complaints that we receive from customers. It definitely helps that we have a great team here at Dagang Net Careline. Our teamwork is like no other I have experienced. I think the long hours and the number of years we have spent working together have transformed us into one big family that get along with each other and support each other. Our mantra is "Work Hard, Play Hard", so we regularly joke around with each other to ease the tension and relieve stress for one another. I personally think people are attracted to stay here for a long time, some more than 10 years due to its stellar work environment. I am very much comfortable working here.


What do you do at Dagang Net and on a day to day basis? What are your responsibilities?

When I first joined Dagang Net Careline in 2013, I started as a call agent. My work is to solve issues from customers as swift and efficient as possible. Some issues may require an extra step where I need to escalate them issue to other departments. Now I serve as an Acting Team Leader.


What are some of the lessons you have learned working at Dagang Net Careline?

My communication skills have improved by learning how to effectively communicate with people regardless of their emotions, this teaches me how to be more professional and patient. On top of that, we learn to be mindful of time and scheduling, which are important in working for a customer service segment. As a Careliner, it's important to be punctual because calls can come at any time, 24 hours a day. If you come in late, it can affect the whole customer service operations.


On your off days, what activities do you enjoy doing?

I love to go for a shopping spree at the popular Department Store, SOGO. I can spend hours there looking and buying home products. Sometimes, I would even visit Ikea and enjoy walking around looking at furniture. It's a great stress reliever for a new mother like me!
