Dagang Net's Amiruddin to head Pan Asian e-Commerce Alliance

Published by The Edge

Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd executive director Amiruddin Abdul Aziz has been appointed chairman of the Pan Asian e-Commerce Alliance (PAA) for a two-year term beginning this year.

In a statement Jan 11, Dagang Net, a subsidiary of Time Engineering Bhd, said with the appointment of Amiruddin to chair the PAA’s steering committee, the company would strive to take PAA’s members to the next level and realise the alliance’s vision to deliver its value and next generation services.

PAA is the regional e-commerce alliance in Asia that provides secure and reliable IT infrastructure to promote efficient global trade and logistics, and has a combined membership in excess of 150,000 organisations representing active trading enterprises in the Asian market.

Dagang Net operates the national electronic trade facilitation service Sistem Maklumat Kastam-Dagang Net.

Amiruddin said that as a government-linked company and the leading e-commerce player, Dagang Net would continuously work with the government to help improve the country’s competitiveness in the global trade arena.

“Leveraging on our position in PAA, we will offer our assistance to grow Asean’s electronic trade by sharing the successful implementation of our single window initiative with PAA members.”

“We believe these initiatives will fully complement and support the government’s efforts in electronic processing of trade documents at both the national and regional levels to maintain and strengthen Asean’s position in international trade,” he said.
