Published by The Star (Starbiz)

Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd is set to unveil a range of value-add MyPorts services to further automate Customs import export documentation procedures to give users the competitive edge in the international trade arena.

The services include a search engine on harmonized codes, weekly reports on Customs exchange rates, registered Customs Cargo Report, location codes and shipping schedules linked to the Sistem Maklumat Kastam-DagangNet (SMK-DagangNet) system.

SMK-DagangNet is the exclusive electronic link to the Customs Department for import-export declarations and clearance. MyPorts, which is linked to it, provides value-added services and further automates customs import-export documentation and procedures.

“We and the Royal Customs are close to completing the national rollout of SMK-DagangNet and we feel the need to continuously drive value to our 2,000 customers by providing such real value-adds to make Dagang Net a stronger e-commerce exchange,” chief executive officer Saifol Bahri Mohd Shamlan said in a statement.

Saifol added that the company aimed to continue to develop new service offerings and provide more trade information that could help customers speed up their trading processes.

Dagang Net handles RM1.8bil worth of Customs duty payment and about 40 million electronic transfers between the members of its trading community, made up of manufacturers, banks, shipping agents, forwarders and Customs houses.
