| Nigeria to Utilise Malaysian Technology Says Aviation Minister Isa Yuguda
NIGERIA 4 Sept, 2003 - The Minister of Aviation, Mallam Isa Yuguda has said that Nigeria might borrow a leaf from Malaysia by automating all aviation and related activities in our airports.
Mallam Yuguda disclosed this over the weekend while receiving a delegation of Malaysia's Information Technology business led by the High Commission's second secretary, Muhammad Radszi Jamaludin, in his office.
The minister, while assuring them of the ministry's support, urged them to negotiate first with the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) about modalities for networking their operations, before going into automating other aspects of airport operations.
Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the delegation thanked the minister for receiving them, adding that the Malaysian IT Company, Dagang.net is willing to replicate its modest achievements in the installation of IT systems for e-commerce activities in Nigeria's international airports, and that the project would be private sector driven without any financial commitment from the Federal government. |
