Vessel Information System (VIS) is a web-based value added service that allows the port users to request for ship call number (SCN) and apply for a berth number (BN) from the Port Operator electronically.

VIS aggregates all information required by the Port Operator, Port Authority and Shipping Agent, for example, ETA&ETD, ATA & ATD, place of berth, vessel details, dangerous goods indicator and cargo details.

Information transacted through VIS will be routed to Sistem Maklumat Kastam (SMK) for validation and cross-reference purposes against Customs declaration.

Modules for Shipping Agents, Port Authorities, Port Operators and Customs

Shipping Agent Module - Shipping Agents can request for SCN from port operators via the Internet after submitting the relevant vessel information to them. With the SCN, Shipping Agents can proceed with preparation of manifest declaration via eDeclare.

Port Operator Module - Port Operators will assign a berth number to a vessel, issue the SCN, post the ATA and ATD. All these information can be accessed by the Shipping Agents and other port users at a click of the button.

Port Authority Module - Port Authorities can monitor the number and types of vessel and their cargo calling at ports around the country and compile ship call statistics for Malaysia.

Customs Module - This enables Customs to validate manifest declaration and Customs declaration by matching the SCNs against declarations submitted by Shipping Agents and Forwarding Agents.

How do I start using VIS?

Fill in the required information using the online registration form or obtain the form from any Kedai EDI near you and send the original forms to Dagang Net Technologies. Once your company's registration is verified, you will be notified.
